Kenya’s Climate Change Action Plan Mitigation report provides a low-carbon assessment in the six mitigation sectors: agriculture, forestry, energy, transport, industry, and waste management. This assessment – which includes a bottom-up assessment of mitigation opportunities and a top-down economy-wide economic, energy and emissions model – provides the evidence base for prioritizing low-carbon development opportunities and ultimately developing investment proposals to attract international climate finance through Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation plus the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks (REDD+).
